Hey, let’s discuss about Secure iOS Devices by Blocking Call Initiation using Intune. This policy blocks users from initiating phone calls when iOS device is locked. This prevents any calls from being made until the phone is unlocked. This gives the device an extra level of protection. This helps maintain secure device from misuse.

This policy helps avoid accidental call from the lock screen. Phones sometimes accidentally dial numbers in pockets or bags. This setting stops it unwanted action at all. He confirm the call only occurs when the user unlocks the device.

This is useful for the organization manage company devices. This ensures employees cannot make calls without unlocking their phones. This maintain communication controlled and safe. It supports secure device workplace use.

This policy functions separately from voice calling features such as Siri. It doesn’t change how Siri handles voice commands. It simply focuses on stopping call initiation from the locked state. This maintains the policy clear and easy to manage.

Create a Profile

To apply policies to iOS or iPadOS devices, first sign in to Microsoft Intune admin center. Go to Devices and select it Configuration profile. Then clickCreate a profile to open the profile creation window. Under Platformschoose iOS/iPadOSand to Profile typeselect Settings catalog. After that, click Create to start configuring your new policy.

Basic Steps

After this, you will be redirected to Basics tab. In this section, you need to provide a name (Allow Voice Calls) and description(To Allow Voice Calls) so that policies can clearly identify them objective. Click Next to continue.

Configuration Settings

Next, you will be in Configuration settings tab. In this section, click Add setting to open the setting selector window. In the search bar, type Voice call or select the Restrictions category from the list. Then, choose Allow Voice Calls policy.

Once you select Allow Voice Calls and close the Settings selector. You will see it in Configuration page. Here we have only two settings True or false. By default, it will be set to CORRECT. If you want to allow this setting, click it Next knob.

Block Voice Calls

If we Not allowed or do not configure this policy, you can block the Voice Call policy by toggle the switch. Then you can click Next button to continue.

After configuring the settings, click Next. You will then achieveScope Tag part. Coverage tags help you organize and filter policies by departmentlocation, or role. They make it easier to manage and set policiesthe right group. If you want to add a coverage tag to your policy, you can do so easily. Once finished, click Next to continue further.

Task

After Scope Tag, you will reach Assignment part. In this section, you can assign policies to specific groups. Assignment ensures that the policy is only applied to device or user, helps maintain control and compliance. To assign a group, click Add Group And select group ( HTMD Monitored Devices – iOS iPadOS) then click Next to continue.

Final Step

After the Task, you will achieve Review + Create page. Here, you can review all the information and settings you have entered. If everything is correct, click Create to continue. If you need to make changes, you can return to previously tab and edit the configuration. Once you click Makepolicies will be successfully created.

Monitoring Status

When the policy is successfully created, you can synchronization device on Company portal for faster deployment. Once the sync is complete, you can check status in the Intune Portal. Go to Device > Configuration and look for the policy.

How to Check End User Devices

You can check it at end user iOS devices by locking the phone and trying to initiate a call from the lock screen. When restrictions are applied, the device will do so block the call and indicate that calls are not allowed until the lock is unlocked. After unlocking, call will work normally Again. This indicates the policy is active on the supervised device.

How to Remove an Assigned Group from a Voice Call Policy

After creating a policy, if you want to delete a specific group that you selected earlier, you can do it easily. First, go to Device > Configuration policies. In the Configuration policies section, search for and select itpolicy. In the Tasks section you will find Edit choice and click on. Then, click Delete choice.

How to Remove Voice Call Policy from Intune

If you want delete this policy for any reason, you can do it easily. First, look for for this policy Name in configuration section. When you find the policy name, you will see a 3 points menu next to it. Click on the 3 dots, then click Delete knob.
