Microsoft improves Intune to maintain applications safe and compatible with new mobile operating systems. As part of this fix, Microsoft specified the minimum version of Intune required Mobile Application Management (Mother) SDK that the application must use.
According to the New RulesStarting January 19, 2026, apps that are not updated to meet the required Intune standards may stop working for users. This change affects both Microsoft application such as Outlook and Teams as well as specialized enterprise applications used for everyday work.

Why Some Mobile Work Apps May Stop Working
Starting January 19, 2026, Microsoft has started blocking that mobile app not updated to Intune as needed security version, which means some work apps may suddenly stop opening if organizations don’t make prior preparations. As a result, users may experience unexpected things interrupt in their daily work, especially if they rely on this application e-mailcommunication.

Microsoft Apps Are Also Part of This Enforcement
Based on the situation, this enforcement is very strict and applies not only to specific business applications, but also to commonly used Microsoft applications such as View And Team if not updated. Microsoft has been communicating this change since 2025 and extended the deadline once, making it clear that this is a planned and final enforcement.

What We Can Do Now
Users must didn’t try to fix it own application access problems by download updates or tools from unknown websites, e-mailor link shared online and this will work problem. If a work application suddenly stops opening or displays a message asking for it renewthe safest step is to update the app only via official app store or Play Store. If the problem persists after the update, users should contact their organization’s IT support or help desk.
- Android users must update Intune Company Portalbecause the old version may block the app even if Outlook or Teams is updated.
- For iOScustom or internal applications must be rebuilt with the latest Intune SDK, not just updated from App Store.
- Admin can check for outdated apps and users by opening Application > Monitoring > Application protection status in Intune admin center.
