Hey, let’s discuss about Managing ISP List Downloads in Internet Connection Wizard Using Intune. This policy controls whether Internet Connection Wizard can download lists Internet Service Provider (ISP) from Microsoft servers. If this policy is enabled, the device will not connect to Microsoft for ISP information. This helps organization control how the internet connectionalready set.

The Internet Connection Wizard is used when setting up a new internet connection on a device. Typically, it may download a list of ISPs to help users choose a provider. This policy stops such automatic downloads. As a result, users have to log in manually connection details.

This policy is useful in managed or corporate environment. This ensures that the device does not come into contact with external devices Microsoft Servers during setup. It supports tighter network and security condition.

Managing ISP List Downloads in the Internet Connection Wizard using Intune

This policy is commonly used in organizations that use it Microsoft Intune to manage devices. It fits a neighborhood that needs it limited external communications. Overall, it is supportive better compliance and network control.

Create a Profile

To start applying policies in Intune, go to Microsoft Intune Admin Center. Then, go to Device > Configuration profile > Create New Policy. Select Platform as Windows 10 and laterand profile is Settings catalogue.

Basic Steps

To start configuring policies in Intune, start with Basics step. Here, we can add Name policy and provide a brief explanation information.

• Policy Name: Turn off the Internet Connection Wizard
• Information: Turn off the Internet Connection Wizard if the connection URL refers to Microsoft.com
• Platforms: window

Configuration Settings

Inside this tab, you will find the option to Add Settings. Proceed to click on it. After clicking, a new window, referred to as Settings Selectorwill appear. Within the Settings Picker window, you are asked to select categories and settings.

You can now close Settings Selector window. After closing it, you will be redirected to Configuration Settings page. On this page, you will see that the policy is configured Enable or Disable. By default it does With disabilities. Then click Next to continue.

Enable Internet Connection Wizard Policy

If we Possible or configure this policy, you can Enable the Internet Connection Wizard policy with toggle the switch. Then, you can click Next button to continue.

The coverage tag is not mandatory, so you can skip this part. It serves as a tool for organization and access management, but assigning it is optional. Click Next if it is not necessary for your setup.

Task

In Tasks TabYou select the users or devices to receive the policy by clicking Add Group under Include Groups, choose the group you want to target(e.g. HTML – Test Policy) then click Next to continue.

Final Step

In this section, you’ll find a summary that covers it all information that you provided in the previous step, including basic details, configuration settings, assignment details. We click Make to complete, and a notification confirms that “Turn off Wizard Internet connection successfully established”.

Device and User Check-in Status

To confirm the status of a policy, navigate to Device > Configuration in the Intune portal. Then, select the relevant policy (Turn off the Internet Connection Wizard), and confirm that the status shows Success (1). For a faster process, use manual sync in the Company Portal.

How to Remove an Assigned Group from this Policy

If you want to delete a specific group that you previously selected, you can do so easily. First, go to Device > Configuration policies. In the Configuration policies section, search for and select it policy. In the Tasks section you will find Edit selection and click Delete choice. Then, click Review+ Save choice.

How to Remove this Policy from Intune

First, look for for this policy name(Turn off the Internet Connection Wizard) in configuration section. When you find the policy name, you will see a 3 points menu next to it. Click on the 3 dots, then click Delete knob.
